Course Overview
The extraordinary important role of metal ions in biology, heath, diseases and medicine has become increasingly evident over the last three decades or more. The inorganic aspects of life processes and biological processes can be understood from the viewpoint of the coordination chemistry of metal ions. The study of metal ions in biological systems can only be appreciated from a multidisciplinary approach. It stays within the rapidly growing interface between inorganic chemistry and the living world. It is increasingly recognized that selected metal ions are involved in cellular and subcellular functions.INTENDED AUDIENCE : MSc, MTech and MPharmPREREQUISITES : 1. Coordination Chemistry 2. Basic Bioinorganic ChemistryINDUSTRY SUPPORT : 1. BioTech companies 2. BioProcess companies 3. BioCatalyst industries
